Project Statement

Gloves represent hands, and hands can symbolize power. This piece explores the possible permutations of power represented in gloves. How can each glove represent an identity and what is its relationship to power? In what context would each glove be worn? What is the relationship between boxing gloves and power? What kind of power can wedding gloves represent? How would boxing gloves and wedding gloves involve the seizing, subverting, giving, and/or receiving of power?
