Performing Arts Worker Relief Fund

  • Resource Description: Theatre Bay Area, in partnership with Dancers’ Group and InterMusic SF, launched the COVID-19: Performing Arts Worker Relief Fund on March 20, 2020 as a resource for performing arts workers who are facing a loss of income due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

  • Application Eligibility: Any resident of the San Francisco Bay Area who has worked professionally or vocationally in local performing arts, who has been an active participant in the arts community (those whose life’s work is the performing arts, regardless of the income derived from work in the performing arts) and has experienced a loss of income due to COVID-19 because of: Cancelled performance/s, Loss of performing arts work, and/or Loss of supplemental income/job

Art Emergency Fund

  • Resource Description: Our team will distribute funds of $250 per member of household in an effort to support the security and protection of our city's artists who, in "normal times" hold part-time or contract work to prioritize their art practice. Funds support basic human needs such as mental health counseling, healthcare reimbursements not covered by insurance, childcare, food, or rent, for example.

  • Application Eligibility: Artist must have graduated from a Bay Area institution or have lived in the Bay Area for two years as a working artist.

  • Ongoing Applications: Please reply to info@andartand.org with answers to these 5 questions: 1. Name and Address of Residence. Number of family members in your household. 2. Did you graduate from a Bay Area art school or have you been a working artist in the Bay Area for at least two years? Please explain. 3. Please let us know who your employer is, your role, and why this position is not available to you (or if your hours have been forcibly cut) and for how long? Is your employer doing anything to support you during this time? 3. Please list any previous, current, or upcoming exhibitions or projects. 4. Please share any supplementary materials you would like to include ie. CV, website, press links, or work you do in the community. 5. Please share details of why you need financial support including what the money will go towards. Support will go to those who need the most immediate assistance.


Arts Leaders of Color Emergency Fund


The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant 

  • Resource Description: The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant program is intended to provide interim financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen, catastrophic incident, and who lack the resources to meet that situation. Each grant is given as one-time assistance for a specific emergency, examples of which are fire, flood, or emergency medical need. The maximum amount of this grant is $15,000; an award of $5,000 is typical.

  • Application Eligibility: To be eligible for this program, an artist must be able to demonstrate a minimum involvement of ten years in a mature phase of his or her work. Artists must work in the disciplines of painting, sculpture or printmaking.

The Artists Safety Net

  • Resource Description: CERF+ ‘s emergency relief grants will focus on craft and folk/traditional artists that incurred significant medical expenses related to treatment and recovery from Covid 19 AND/OR experienced an recent, unforeseen emergency that has been further exacerbated by COVID19 and, thus, creates the need for immediate assistance.

  • Application Eligibility: Artists interested in CERF+ emergency assistance must first complete an inquiry form. If it is determined that you may be eligible for assistance, you will be invited to apply for assistance.
