When Imagination becomes Foundation: Will you become a KSW monthly donor?

Dear Community,

Our theme for this winter campaign is: “Imagination becomes Foundation: Your commitment builds our future.” This winter we’re asking you to become a monthly donor at a sustainable and meaningful amount.

MAKE A ONE-TIME DONATION TODAY

or better yet,

BECOME A MONTHLY DONOR

If anniversaries are for joy, then the time afterward is for soaking in that joy, for considering all that you’ve done to make it there, thinking fondly of the people and places you have encountered on this road towards the future. It’s also a time to re-commit to the spaces you’ve called home, the spaces you’ve felt have supported you on your very individual, but still connected journeys through life.

We have 14 amazing monthly donors and want this number to grow to 50 this year! Can you help us?

We’ve always tried to create a special home for artists, one built on community movements, generosity, and a belief that our voices belong. At KSW50, the radical joy we’ve witnessed over these many years came together in celebration and poured resources back into our community in a way that’s allowed us to move towards stabilization, and dream of better futures.

This year, we celebrated the theme of Autonomy in KSW’s APAture, our annual festival for emerging artists. Autonomy as a theme wove together many strands of our work and identities. We asked ourselves: What does it mean to be truly autonomous? How do we sustain ourselves as community members, in our families, in our friendships, in our work?

Nearly 50 years ago, KSW began from a community-rooted vision for cultural work. To imagine who we are and know where we come from is critical to building the world we all wish to live in.

And so we did a lot of imagining: what do programs by us, for us look like? What voices do we wish to uplift in our communities? Who are the Asian American artists of our future that we can support today? It takes commitment to answer these questions.

We still need your support envisioning and activating KSW’s work for the next 50 generations. The kind of support we need is specific. KSW is where history meets dreaming. And because of you, we are so much closer to dreaming for another 50 years. Will you consider becoming a monthly donor to show your support for us for years to come?

Split across 12 months, your pledge can be whatever you want, but to KSW, the impact is exponential. With just $10 a month we can waive application fees to our one-of-a-kind master class for writers. With just $100/month, we’re able to offer workshops and training for artists who need support professionalizing, and surviving.
