Community is Everything is about organizing a life around care. It is both a people and a feeling because at its root, Community is Everything speaks to a feeling of grounded love and the action it takes to reflect that love. Love between family, friends, neighbors, acquaintances or strangers we see every day and strangers we don’t. Community is Everything means that our survival is guaranteed, that our hopes and dreams still matter, and that by supporting one another, we will create a better future.

When times are trying, Community is not a term we use generally and it is not a term we use lightly. Our communities have power that can’t be denied. Speaking truth to systemic power is power in and of itself. Engaging with art and gathering around culture is a way to connect across shared goals. Will you donate to KSW, to help us prove that we still need places to gather around art? To show that the arts are still a necessary part of the world we’re building?

Smaller scale cultural organizations make up the unique tapestry of culture in the SF Bay Area, yet survival is hard right now. It is our belief that legacy organizations with long histories serving working class audiences play a key role in safeguarding a vision of the future we want to live in. Community is Everything is a call for us to show up for one another. Will you show up for KSW, and for all the people who make this hub, a home?
