Infinite Exchange: thả hôn theo dó (releasing grief with dó paper)

Workshop lead: Karin Hạnh

Workshop date/time: Saturday, August 2 10-12pm

Workshop location: Arc Gallery & Studios 1246 Folsom St. SF, CA 94103

Workshop description:

Inspired by Yumi Sakugawa’s workshop “Resting, Grieving, Nourishing the Soil of Your Imagination for Collective Liberated Futures,” this meditative art-making space invites us to tend the landscapes of our inner grief—what we call our inner soil grief profile. Together, we’ll explore how grief lives in our bodies and imaginations, and how we might compost it into nourishment for personal and collective transformation.

Artist and facilitator Karin Hạnh will guide a gentle, hands-on practice of mark-making using handmade Vietnamese dó paper. Through art and discussion, we’ll reflect on what we’re grieving, what we’re growing, and how we can root our hopes for the future—individually and as a community.

This workshop is open to all—no art experience needed. Come as you are, and leave with a piece of your own making and a deeper connection to your inner knowing and shared dreaming.

Materials Provided:

Each participant will receive one sheet of handmade Vietnamese dó paper. One shared set of soil-based watercolors and watercolor brushes will be available for group use.

Workshop cost:

$100 to cover the cost of KSW space and Vietnamese dó paper (internationally shipped).

Scholarships and discounts are available, please contact jason@kearnystreet.org to inquire.
